Study of the effect of cobalt content on the stability of nickel composite anode materials for solid oxide fuel cells in high humidity

In this work, the effect of humidity on the microstructural degradation of nickel-based metal– ceramic composite materials containing 0, 10, 20, 40, and 60 wt.% of cobalt in the metallic phase was investigated. The increase in cobalt concentration was found to have a beneficial effect on the stability of the microstructure and the long-term electrical conductivity, indicating the perspective of cobalt alloying as an approach to improve the performance and durability of SOFC anodes.

Application of nickel-cobalt alloy in the composite anode to enhance characteristics of tubular SOFCs

The electrochemical characteristics of the tubular solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC) and the symmetrical anodic cells with conventional nickel-cermet and modified nickel-cobalt cermet anodes were studied using voltammetry, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, and distribution of relaxation time analysis. The tubular SOFC with the modified anode exhibited higher power output and demonstrated lower power loss at reduced temperatures, which is attributed to higher electrical conductivity and lower activation energy of the anodic electrode reaction.

Electrolytes for rechargable chemical current sources with magnesium anode

The article provides a list of currently known electrolytes for creating rechargeable chemical current sources with a magnesium anode. Among them are electrolytes containing and not containing chlorides, as well as boron- and aluminum-centric electrolytes as liquid electrolytes. Examples of thickened, polymeric and solid electrolytes are given. Summary tables on the properties of solvents and liquid solutions of electrolytes are given.
