Double dopation of lithium-manganese spinel LiMn2O4
To increase structural stability under cycling, LiMn2O4 was modified by co-doping with 3d-metals (Co, Ni, Cr, Fe) and lithium. The synthesis of spinels was realized by preliminary mechanical activation of reagent mixture and subsequent heat treatment at 750°С. It has been shown that doped samples LiMn1.9M0.05Li0.05O4 (M = Co, Ni, Cr, Fe) are characterized by the average particle size of about 200–300 nm, insignificant decrease of cell parameters, enhanced stability under cycling in the 3.0–4.5 V range and at high current density, as well as at storage in the contact with electrolyte.
